There is only a small food safe silicone ring in the rim of the lid to ensure an airtight seal. Most bottles have plastic lids — travel mugs are especially notorious for having elaborate and hard to clean plastic lids. Not this one! Beyond the safety aspects of keeping plastic out of bottles, this bottle won’t absorb or impart flavors the way plastic might. This means this bottle can be used for water, coffee – whatever drink strikes your fancy, hot or cold.
