Steel cut oats (also called Irish Oats) have been cut instead of rolled, so they look more like golden-brown grains of rice than the flat oats you’re used to. Because of this, they take longer to cook than rolled oats—but the result is well worth it. Steel cut oatmeal has a deliciously creamy texture that’s worlds better than regular oatmeal.

Directions
Bring 4 cups water with 1 tsp salt to a boil. Gradually add 1 cup steel cut oats, stirring constantly. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer until oats are tender (about 15-30 minutes).
