Washing soda = “sodium carbonate”
____________________________
Made “in-house” by heating baking soda (aka “sodium carbonate”) at 425 degrees. By heating thoroughly, we remove one “carbonate” from the “sodium bicarbonate” molecules (converts to carbon dioxide and water vapor while heating)
Washing soda is a powerful and non-toxic cleaner and water softener. It has a very high pH (11). The washing soda helps scour and lift dirt from clothes when added to laundry. Can be used with detergent or as a pre-soak.
Can also be used for natural dyeing (helps dyes adhere to fabric) and removing stains and buildup in the kitchen and other surfaces (spot test first to be safe!)
