How to brew
- Heat water to just below boiling, ideally 195 to 205 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Grind fresh beans. Finer grind gives a stronger cup. Coarser grind gives a lighter cup. Target a coffee to water ratio between 1:15 and 1:17.
- Place the filter on your jar or mug. Optionally rinse it with hot water to warm the metal.
- Add your grounds. For a pint jar, about 1 ounce of coffee which is roughly 5 tablespoons.
- Wet the grounds lightly and let them bloom for about 30 seconds.
- Slowly pour the remaining hot water in circles from the center outward.
- Once dripping stops, remove the filter and enjoy.
Maintenance tips
Daily care is simple. Rinse immediately after use or run it through the dishwasher. Over time, natural coffee oils can settle in the mesh. If flow slows down, try:
• A soak in warm water with a splash of white vinegar
• A gentle scrub with a soft brush
• A quick boil in water to melt built up oils
• A baking soda paste before the vinegar soak for stubborn residue
These methods restore the mesh and keep it performing like new.
What you receive: One stainless steel pour over filter. Mason jar not included.
