Carina Organics

Carina Organics has been manufacturing botanical-based hair and body care on the North Shore of Vancouver, British Columbia since 1972. Their formulations are built around plant extracts, herbal essences, and mineral-rich ingredients, including magnesium in many products.

Botanical Process and Sourcing

Botanicals such as alfalfa, chamomile, echinacea, nettle, red clover, and tree essences are harvested throughout the year from forests and farms across the Pacific Northwest. Approximately 98 percent of certifiable ingredients are sourced from QAI and USDA certified organic growers, with additional small-scale local suppliers used when certification is not economically feasible.

Cleansing agents are derived from saponified coconut oil. Conditioners and creams incorporate plant oils such as avocado, olive, flax seed, pumpkin seed, and sunflower. Products are manufactured by hand in small batches.

Performance and Formulation Standards

• pH balanced to support skin and hair health.
• Shampoos and body washes range from pH 5.5 to 6.5.
• Conditioners range from pH 4.5 to 5.5 to help smooth the hair cuticle.
• Baby Shampoo is formulated at a higher pH range (6.5 to 7.0) to reduce eye irritation and create a tear-free wash.
• Extra-Gentle Shampoo is formulated for color-treated hair.
• Cleanses effectively in hard water.
• Septic safe.
• Gluten-free and soy-free, and free from common allergens, though not certified nut-free.
• Vegan and cruelty-free.
• Shelf life of approximately 3 years.

Refill at Exist Green

We receive Carina Organics in 5-gallon (20-liter) bulk buckets. Because they ship from Canada, the empty buckets are not returned to the manufacturer. Instead, they are redistributed locally for reuse within our community.

• Unscented

In-store, most scent profiles can be experienced by sampling the matching lotion. Peppermint can be smelled from the small jar located near the product.
