Founded in 2017 by sisters Lindsey and Alison Delaplaine, Plaine Products formulates salon-quality hair and body care in the United States within a true reuse model. Based in Cincinnati, Ohio, the company was built around reducing plastic in personal care.

Their concentrated formulas use aloe vera as the first ingredient instead of water and are palm oil free, vegan, non-GMO, biodegradable, color-safe, and free from sulfates, parabens, phthalates, silicones, and petroleum-derived additives. Products are naturally scented with essential oils and botanical aromatics, with unscented options available. Ingredients are gluten free, though the facility is not certified gluten-free. As a gluten-free shop, we recommend spot testing for severe sensitivities.

Because formulas are aloe-based and concentrated, a small amount goes a long way. Shampoos and conditioners are suitable for color-treated hair and sensitive skin.

Closed-Loop Partner

This brand is one of our closed-loop vendor partners. Products arrive in reusable bulk containers that are returned to the manufacturer to be cleaned and refilled at the point of production. Customers refill in-store, removing single-use packaging at two major steps of the supply chain. Returned bottles are commercially washed and sanitized before reuse. Aluminum packaging is designed for repeated reuse and full recyclability.
