Petite Crimson Lentils are small, fast-cooking, and naturally slightly sweet. Originally cultivated in the Near East, these red lentils have been a staple of nourishing plant-based meals for centuries.
They’re ideal for Indian masoor dal, pureed soups, quick sides, or blended into cooked rice for extra color and nutrition. Add them to pasta sauce for a simple, protein-rich meatless meal.
These decorticated lentils (seed coat removed) cook in just 5–10 minutes and turn golden as they soften—perfect for busy weeknight meals or last-minute soup additions.
Naturally high in plant protein (26% by calories), lentils are also an excellent source of magnesium, folate, iron, and soluble fiber.
To Cook: Rinse and sort. Simmer gently over low heat (don’t boil hard), just until tender—typically 5 to 10 minutes. Overcooking will lead to a soft mash, while gentle simmering keeps the shape.
