Exist Green is a plant-based store at heart. To be able to accept SNAP benefits, we carry a very limited selection of responsibly sourced dairy, eggs, and tinned seafood. When animal products are included, they are chosen carefully, with close attention to sourcing methods and environmental impact. We also carry fully plant-based, vegan alternatives to tinned fish, which are listed separately.
These oysters are grown in Willapa Bay on the Washington coast using the long-line method, a suspended aquaculture system that keeps oysters off the seafloor and fully immersed in clean, flowing tidal water. This growing method minimizes disturbance to marine habitats, reduces sediment contact, and supports consistent, grit-free oysters. Long-line farming relies on natural tidal movement rather than dredging or heavy mechanical harvest, making it a lower-impact approach to shellfish cultivation.
After harvest, the oysters are brought fresh to a small cannery in Bay Center, Washington. They are gently steamed and opened, then brined in small batches before being carefully placed on stainless steel racks. The oysters are slowly smoked using natural wood smoke, allowing the process to enhance their natural umami rather than overpower it.

Original: Lightly brined and naturally smoked to highlight the oyster’s clean, savory character.
Habanero: Brined with two distinct habanero sauces before smoking, delivering bold heat balanced by smoke and natural oyster richness.
Lemon Pepper: Slowly smoked over a blend of maple, birch, and beech woods, then finished with a subtle lemon pepper spice blend for a bright, citrus-forward finish.
